Happy August; also known as vacation month for my family. Here we are on the 23rd of the month, and I am just finally getting around to releasing the B4 We Create logo experiment! Instead of working on this I was hanging out on a lake with almost no internet access and nearly all of my favorite people. Sometimes work just has to wait!

In honor of my recent travels, this month’s logo pays tribute to “the journey.”

A Compass Rose is a circle showing the primary directions printed on a map or chart. My kids did this summer camp project recently, and the iconography of this symbol struck a chord.

A compass rose points you in a direction. The combination of branding, design, and marketing point people in the direction of your company’s products and services. Likewise, as a business owner, you are on a journey to define your brand. Carefully consider the best course to follow, and you will find your target audience waiting for you.

B4 We Create’s August 2017 Logo!

In this month’s logo experiment, I was particularly fond of how the Bickham Script “B” curves and wraps around the compass’ center. August’s logo is also the first icon in the series to include the full name of my company. I will have to make a separate version for small uses that leaves this out. When I design a logo, I have to consider how it will function in different applications. For example, if I reduce a mark down to a 1-inch square can I still clearly see all the graphics at that size? If not, then I develop a version that suits this proportion.
